Europe: Challenges, Threats and Future

Abstract

We begin by very briefly characterizing today’s Europe, followed by identifying the challenges and threats that call its future into question. This is directly related to competitiveness and development, in an increasingly global world marked by conflict between blocks with different values and objectives. We will end with the necessary messages from and for the future, with the notion that “Europe can only continue to build itself as an act of will and intelligence”, aware of the importance of security and defense for strategic autonomy in the new international political system.
